"Read Across America" and "Dads' Chef Tasting Dinner"

On Friday March 21st we celebrated at school "Read Across America". We arrived at school this special day all dressed up in our favorite literacy character. Then, all day long we listened to stories read by parents of our class and students from 5th grade. During the day, we decorated a hat from Dr. Seuss book and finally we participated to a school parade and joined everyone at the auditorium for a last story time...

Our teachers were also dressed up: Miss Melania in Miss Viola, the character of the story: " Miss Nelson is missing" and Claire in Little red riding hood.
Edith brought a book from Dr. Seuss at school and Miss Melania read us the story and then we colored and cut the hat of the character of the story.

 Elizabeth's mom read us poems...
5th graders from Sonia's class came to our class to read stories in french and in english

Grace's mom also read several stories in french and in english
and then we put our hats on...

 ...to go to the parade...

Eloise's mom read us a traditional french story " Martine"

And finally, we went to the auditorium with the entire school to listen to stories.

We got certificate of participation to this special day!

It was a very fun reading day at school!

At the end of this special day there was a movie night at school and the dads cooked for everybody with hats on made by the kids of each class! We made our hat during the class by tracing vertical lines with the Lila colors, cutting pictures of some ingredients and tools, adding some glitters, and finally we wrote the big title on the hat in french and in english: "Le meilleur chef cuisinier/world's best chef"!

Claire's dad wore our hat to cook..
 And Aksel's dad cooked too...
 Eloise's dad also...
 And Marc's dad as well...

Bravo to all the kids and the dads...They all made a great job!!! The party was a success!!!!
