We celebrated Halloween and arrived all dressed up at school...
Even the teachers...
We did activities on this theme...
Physical activities/The witch game: One of us is the witch and during the song " Abracadabra", we all walk around in the room. When the first part of the song is done, the witch lets go of her broom and tries to catch someone who then runs to escape. If she catches him/her, she transforms everyone into the character told in the song: a cat, a wolf, a mouse and everyone has to imitate that character...
The bats and the symmetry concept: With the paint brush and black paint, fill in half of the bat. Then, fold the sheet and here the result...it's exactly the same on the other side.
Writing activities: Write "HAPPY HALLOWEEN" and our names on the pumpkin that we picked up at the farm...
Halloween's BINGO using language, vocabulary, name of the colors... We had to spin an arrow and wait to see which character and color was chosen. If we had it on our card, we had to put a pawn on it. We won if we were able to complete an horizontal or a vertical line...
Each of us has a paper hat with a number on it . One at a time, with a blindfold on, we have to pin our hat as close as possible from the hat of the witch on the poster hang on the wall. We have to memorise our number to find out who is the winner at the end. We can then compare the results using vocabulary like "closest to", "further than"...
Halloween art crafts: we choose an Halloween character and build it with different kind of materials.
Pumpkins coloring: with Miss Julia we read Halloween's stories, and made pumpkin's coloring with oil chalks.
Halloween Dominos: an observation and language domino game. We had to choose the good card to match the one before (same character on it). We then had to explain our choice in french: "Je peux jouer parce que j'ai une carte avec la meme image: c'est ...." ( I can play because I have a card with the same image on it: it is...).
Plantations: we cut a pumpkin to see what was inside. We kept the seeds and decided to plant them in our little garden outside... First, we made a hole, place the seed inside, fill it in and finally put some water on it. We just need to wait and see what will happen next...
Parade at school and group pictures...
